Palestine: in an exchange with my MP

In my exchange with my MP regarding the Canadian
government's position, I objected to their decision to define antisemitism as
including anti-Zionism. However, the MP's response only added confusion to the
issue by stating that: “while certain expressions of anti-Zionism can cross
the line into antisemitism—such as using double standards or denying the Jewish
people their right to self-determination”.
My response:
Thank you for your prompt response. I would like to address
your statement about “using double standards or denying the Jewish people
their right to self-determination”
For sure, no one should deny any people the right to
self-determination. However, states should not be defined by religion, and I do
not believe Canada should endorse such an approach, given its commitment to
secularism and equal rights for all, regardless of their beliefs
Regarding self-determination, I would like to draw your
attention once again to the Palestinian people, who continue to be denied the
right to self-determination in their homeland, beside the fact that they are
the native to this land.
In my view, this denial is not merely a matter of particular
government policies or laws; it lies at the core of Zionist ideology. I argue
that its foundational writings reflect racist attitudes toward Palestinians. To
illustrate this argument, let us examine a few specific examples
-
Zionist ideology rests on
the denial of Palestinians’ existence as a distinct people.
-
Israeli lawmakers passed
legislation defining Israel as a Jewish state. I argue that this establishes a
hierarchy of citizenship that privileges Jewish citizens over others and
reflects an apartheid system.
-
Zionism gives any Jewish on
the earth the right to enter and enjoy benefit in the state of Israeli, while
denying Palestinians the native of the land this legitimate right
-
Zionism considers
themselves above the international law, they state several times that
international law applies only to non-Jewish
-
Zionism believes in extreme
violent interpretation to the Torah, that are used to justify taking property
from non-Jewish people or committing violence against them in the name of
Jewish interests.
Further examples and supporting evidence could be brought
into this discussion. However, I believe the examples outlined above provide
sufficient grounds to argue that Zionism is a racist ideology and movement and
should be recognized as such.
I would welcome the opportunity to discuss this further.
-End of response-
I am quoting here -something I did not mention in my reply- I
am quoting Benjamin
Moser, a Jewish American writer as saying: "The
more I studied Zionism, the more I spent time there, the more I realized that
every inch of Israel is Palestine. It was always Palestine
