A word from an Egyptian-Canadian to the Prime Minister of Greece: stand by the principal

;Mr. Alexis Tsipras

Prime Minister of Greece

I strongly support your government’s position in regards to your country’s debt crisis facing the new European Imperialism. I support your government’s position in spite of my strong condemnation of your government’s relation with Egypt’s fascist dictator, General Sisi, who came into power by a Military Coup that overthrew the first democratically elected president in Egypt’s history.

Greek’s economy has the right to flourish and Greek’s people have the right to a better future.  The people of Egypt have the same right and as an Egyptian I call on your government to stand by the principal and not to give up to any pressure coming from the north or from the south.

Freedom Flotilla III : 47 Participants on Four Boats Sailing Now

For immediate release:
Freedom Flotilla III : 47 Participants on Four Boats Sailing Now
Freedom Flotilla III, consisting of four boats, the converted fishing trawler "Marianne of Gothenburg" and the supporting sailing vessels “Rachel”, “Vittorio” and “Juliano II”, carrying 47 people from 17 countries, has been sailing since Saturday morning (Gaza time) to challenge the blockade of 1.8 million Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. Our primary goal is to break the illegal and inhumane blockade of Gaza and to call on opening the port of Gaza, the port of Palestine to the world.
Three sailing vessels are accompanying the Marianne, her freedom sailors and cargo on her way to Gaza. Their names (Rachel, Vittorio and Juliano II) were given in memory of peace activists Rachel Corrie, Vittorio Arrigoni and Juliano Mer-Khamis, while Juliano II also recalls the Juliano, another boat that was about to leave port but had to stay, due to technical reasons. It is not yet clear whether this boat has been sabotaged, as happened in 2011, and this suspicious case is still under investigation.
While the Flotilla bears much-needed aid, our main cargo is, as always, human solidarity and non-violent direct action for the respect of human rights.
Since Saturday, the Marianne has been under surveillance by what crew described as military vessels and reconnaissance airplanes, without changing direction or plans. Currently the Marianne is approximately 170 nautical miles from the port of Gaza and could reach its destination within one to two days.
From the beginning of this campaign, the Freedom Flotilla Coalition has been constantly evaluating the prospects for small sailing vessels like Rachel, Vittorio and Juliano II to reach their destination or to return to their ports of origin. In order to increase the international presence in this Flotilla we decided to also have boats that would have a different strategy and final destination. The participants on these sailing boats bear witness to the Flotilla and help focus the world's attention not only on Israeli state piracy against civil society activism, but also to the more than eight years of suffering and arrested development in blockaded Gaza. See ff3.freedomflotilla.org  for updates on boats' positions and itineraries.
During recent days, political support for our challenge to the blockade has been building in Israel and throughout the world. The Flotilla has for years continuously put pressure on this illegal  and inhuman blockade. We are renewing our strategies while staying true to our history of sailing to restore international law in the eastern Mediterranean. More international figures are standing by, prepared to participate in Freedom Flotilla III. By land and by sea, and with one common goal, we will continue until Israel’s illegal blockade is lifted, Egypt stops the arbitrary closures of the Rafah crossing, and Gaza’s port is fully open for both people and products

Mr. Harper comes from which plant!

Mohamed S. Kamel*
May 26th, 2015

I still don’t understand how Mr. Harper can blame others for the radicalisation of the young Canadians, and I don’t understand how he can justify his argument to himself and his supporter.  Whether he understands or not it is not issue.  The main issue arises from his ignorance that is affecting Canada reputation and every Canadian life.

Mr. Harper claims that he doesn’t understand why kids are being radicalised.  I think he needs somebody to tell him straight in his face that he is one of the main reasons behind all this.

How?

Mr. Harper leads a hypocrisy government that pretends to be idealistic and acts in contrary to all values.  He leads a government that;

-          Claims to be defending Human Rights, but doesn’t value any human but their own entourage or own benefit, when it comes to others, value withdrawn and false excuses come to the surface.
-          Claims to value democracy, still this for their own entourage or own benefit, but when it comes to others our government apologetic voice becomes vocal claiming that for some democracy is a luxury because these people can’t offered it.
-          Claims to stand for people’s right of choice, still this applies only to their own entourage or own benefit, but when other people choose what suits them, the hypocrisy of the ‘God Father’ comes forward claiming that these people are not well educated and can’t chose for themselves.

We see all this, when Mr. Harper and his government speak for the right to self-determination of the Tibetan People but not for Palestinians, who are suffering the humiliation and the denial of all rights for more 70 years.

We see all this, when Mr. Harper and his government defend democracy when it comes to Ukraine, and support a Military Coup in Egypt.

We see all this, when Mr. Harper and his government speaks for the Human Rights violations in China and North Korea, and stay idle in front of the violations of Human Rights by the Egyptian Regime.

We see all this, when Mr. Harper and his government denounced loudly the unjust detention of Daw Aung San the Leader of the opposition in Myanmar (Burma), and stayed silent facing the detention of Mr. Mursi the only democratically elected president in Egypt’s history and tens of thousands of illegitimately detained in alliance countries’ prisons, Egypt, Israel…etc.

We see all this when Israeli and Egyptian authorities terrorised civilian pacifists, Mr. Harper and his government claimed that pacifist revolutionaries are terrorist.

We see all this clear, when Mr. Harper and his government claim that they defend  minorities’ rights, until this right touches Muslims, it doesn’t became rights anymore.

The Hypocrisy of Mr. Harper’ regime is very clear when they allow Canadian citizen to travel abroad to fight as mercenaries with likeminded fighters, and deny that right for others.

The Hypocrisy of Mr. Harper’ regime is very clear when they discriminate against its own citizens and the Canadian NGOs who are not carrying the same ideology,

Mr. Harper; Palestinians and Tibetans are alike, both deserve the self-determination. Ukrainians and Egyptians both deserve democracy.  Chinese, North Koreans and all Arabs are human and deserve a respect to their rights.  Mr. Mursi and Mrs. Daw Aung San both deserve to be supported and defended.

Mr. Harper; Killing of citizens by fascist regimes is the worst terrorism, and silencing citizens is terrorising people.  We should stop all Canadians from travel to fight in any side of any war. And we should stop discriminating against all Citizens.

All this alienating people, and is the real cause of the radicalisation.  Listen to people.  Listen to Professor Stephane Leman-Langlois, a criminology professor at the ‘Université De Montréal’, when he says the government needs to re-think their approach…

Bill C-51 is the tool that Mr. Harper thinks will prevent terrorism and radicalisation.  In the contrary, all respectful security and communities’ experts see it as a false tool that will not achieve but more alienation and less security.

Mr. Harper;

If you insist and remain in your state of denial and remain a champion of your own illusion, we should kick you out of office before you turn all Canadian’s children into radicalism.
