Canadian and the USA visits: ethnic profiling

comment by: Mohamed S. Kamel

The news:

A new U.S. law will require foreign nationals from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Sudan and Syria to be registered, photographed and fingerprinted whenever they cross the border and that includes Canadian born over there. Ottawa is warning Canadians born in these countries to "consider carefully" any plans to enter the U.S.”

I was ashamed to hear this news and the warning issued by the Canadian government, because our government did actually accept the American ethnic profiling and sang with them the same song, it is not Canada we knew.

What ever action been taken by the USA is predictable and prove the reality that USA dose not respect any neighboring or friendship, but the problem here is the Canadian Government that is not considering any self-respect for all Canadian people and Canadian system, because USA by this decisions is labeling Canada as a threat and labeling the Canadian system as non professional and non efficient.

As a Canadian, form origin –unfortunately- not been listed in the USA list, I am calling on our government and our people to respond to it strongly by;

  1. As Canadian people we should refrain from traveling to the USA in solidarity with other Canadian.
  2. The Canadian government should correct its position and issue a warning for all Canadian from traveling to USA.
  3. The Canadian government should follow the international law in the equal treatment treaty by treating all USA citizens the same way before entering Canada.

I think it is the only way we can say to the international community that we in Canada respect ourselves and will not accept to be treated in any bad way.

Every single person will have his turn, let us speak out before it is too late.
