Mandela is the most known person in our modern history specially in the 20th century all over the world. He lead the resistance against the occupation and the humiliation of the white western discriminatory regime in South Africa, this regime was an extend to the British occupation era. They planted them in South Africa and Zimbabwe what was called Rhodesia, they planted their tail over there to be able to control and govern the original land owner the black whom refused and resist against all the world injustice (the strong world), they resist and were very clear death or freedom, so they get freedom.

They scarified for many years, their scarifying pressure the force of occupation and with a pressure from their people, to surrender and to know that the time has come to return to the people their simple right. Canada was one of the first in the world to recognize this right and the first to stand up to the occupation and to stand up to USA and UK, and no body on the earth stand beside this regime but those two imperialist and their planed entity in Palestine –the Zionism regime-.

The freedom fighter side by side with the pressure from the world people and the embargo against this regime, all together did succeed in achieve their goal in South Africa and they defeat the discrimination and the occupation force. Mandela came out of the prison to be the first native president for South Africa, Canada did not stop their, because Mandela deserve, our government did grantee him the honoree citizenship, that never be given to any alive person, Canada by this did honor his long stand and struggle for freedom and justice.

As usual some of the racist by born did refuse this Canadian action because they consider Mandela is a terrorist, because he did raise arm struggle to achieve his people freedom. One of these racist people is a MP of the Canadian Parliament, member of the Canadian Alliance Party –Reform Party-, these people see the freedom fighter as terrorist because they defend their right against occupation forces and discrimination regimes.

They forget that Canada is the one that been honored not Mandela, we hope that day will come to grant all freedom fighter our citizenship, to make all honest people Canadian Citizen. I think that those people do not like the freedom for all the world, and the freedom fighter been listed as terrorist and been included in the "absolute injustice" campaign that been lead by USA starting with Iraq, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, and they will be followed by all other countries one after the anther.

All Palestinian People deserve to be granted the Canadian Citizenship, they are only people on the earth that been occupied, expelled from his land, and been tortured. The only people that leaved for two generation in refuge campus in his land, the only people that 95% of his population never knew citizenship or homeland. People been destroyed by a resolution from the UN, when an entity been planted in his homeland under the watch of the entire world, and as long as they refuse the injustice, they torture them increasingly.

Is it not due yet for Canada to play its role, and give up following USA? Are there no other Pearson or Trodeau to refuse the unfair embargo against Cuba, to open the door to the Great China, to pressure South Africa, to refuse the Trio attack on Egypt, and to refuse the coup against Mesadek?

Are there any other nation that its people never new land or nationality? Are there any other people their country name is not on the map? Are there any other people that never knew citizenship or boundary? It is very strange that the country that honored by Mandela cannot refuse this "Absolute Injustice", and we cannot refuse the daily killing, humiliation and inhuman acts that take place every day in Palestinian land on the Palestinian people. This Zionist entity doing whatever it is doing under the watch of the all world, and no body can ask it to comply with the UN resolutions.

We remember all this at the coincident of two occasions, Mandela ceremony for the Canadian Citizenship and the international day for solidarity with the Palestinian people. That date which celebrated each year since November 29th, 1947 the date at which the UN's General Assembly passed resolution 181, to divide Palestine into two countries one for the Jewish and another for the Arab. This resolution that half of it been achieved and not the other half. According to this resolution the Zionism entity been created (Zionism not Jewish, many of the Jewish people refuse it, specially the orthodox Jewish). A country created on a stolen land, and UN is satisfied with the yearly celebration in solidarity with the owner of this land, while the Zionism entity enjoy a seat in the UN and the USA consider the Palestinian people whom fight for the land are terrorist, that is the way USA will establish the "Absolute injustice".

All world population are under the USA siege, economically, politically and military this siege that building a road to the absolute injustice, but the question is "Are there enough days on the year to celebrate in solidarity for the balance of the people's land? Alternatively, the mask will be dropped. and we will be able to grant the Palestinian people the Canadian Citizenship to be the first people to grant another country citizenship at the same time they retrieve their citizenship, so Canada would be honored again and again as it has been honored with Mandela.

Our children in the west By: Mohamed Sherif Kamel

Our children in the west

We express many problems in addition to an internal and external dilemma that arose from the religion and culture differences, it is of course normal because of the misunderstanding between the two extremes. That is why it is a legitimate cause to open the dialogue between the all society, a dialogue that should result of mutual understanding and respect, this dialogue to succeed should aim to respectable coexistence.

All this came up to my mind while witnessing a case in a public secondary school in Québec Canada, where the relation between the administration and majority of the student –both are non Muslim- and our children passed through three phases.

Up to a very close period, the relation was unstable and unrespectable built on misunderstanding. Where the girls whom wear the Scarf (hijab) face humiliation from many of the student and some of the teachers while the administration never grant them any protection. These girls whom shoes not to participate in the swimming classes been denied any exemption and fail the courses, and their classmate laugh of them. The student whom care of the daily prayers, perform it in the school corridors.

Of course, we saw a big change in the second phase that we lived up to September 11th, 2001. The patient of our daughters and sons make the right of wearing scarf is acceptable, the exemption from the swimming classes become part of the common sense to a big extend, and seeing a student pray in a corridor or somewhere become normal, even they could have a small room for prayer even while the schools' buildings become over crowded.

We did enjoy all this not smoothly of course but with patients and dialogues, but every thing change after September 11th, 2001, when the Muslim been the suspect and even Islam consider a suspect, this brought again a discussion about the Scarf (hijab), prayers even the loyalty of the Muslims itself been questioned.

The case at this school is an example of what is going on allover the city, allover North America and allover the west, and it is a normal result of the misunderstanding that lay on both parties shoulders.

We did mentioned that it is very important to maintain the dialogue, a dialogue that depend on respect and mutual understanding, but we expect that they should understand us and we do nothing to understand the society and even to help them understanding us. We consider that we are perfect while we are not, we refuse to present any balance position. We have to discuss many things openly; we have to be honest with ourselves.

  • It is great to have a crowded mosque, we hope it would be more crowded, but do we respect the neighbors of the mosques? Do we respect the parking regulations? How many of our mosques express problems with the cities?
  • Did we try to present to our children real advices about the way of integration and cooperation and not to be separated from the society, without losing any of our religion and believe?
  • Did we try to open our mosques for the non-Muslims to give them a window to see our real face? Did we try to speak to them with their language?
  • Did we try to visit our neighbors, to know them? Did we try to congratulate them on there occasions? Is this not what our religion tell us?
  • Did we try to tell our children how they could make friends of the non-Muslims and determine the fine line between friendship and following them in their way of life?
  • Did we try to explore the dangerous of any provocations and what it could lead to? Example, calling the non-Muslims non-believers (kafer).

I remember all this while I am following the story of the school, where some of our children did loss the mutual understanding and start to abuse the tolerance and provoke the society with some of unreasonable acts. When the lunch hour not enough to perform the prayers and they arrive to class late, some even pray Friday noon prayer in the school in 40 forty minutes, and went too far to perform the call to the prayer loudly (Azzan) in the middle of the school…!

Who led those kids to all this? Did we loss control? Did we loss sight of what is wrong and what is right?

Why the silent, why we do not inform our children of the limits and the tolerance that we should represent? Why we do not explain to our children the difference between the essential and that what could provoke clashes that could be avoided religious, socially, and politically?

Some of the non-Muslims start to speak loudly about the scarf (hijab) and the accommodations of the Muslims' needs in the society, especially in the public school system. The scarfs is religious obligation and right according to the acts of the human rights and freedom, while the prayer's places are consider reasonable accommodation and privilege we have to keep it by tolerance and opening not by provocations.

I do not blame ourselves (Muslims), but of sure we are the main part of what is going on from misunderstanding and unrespectable relation. We are the main responsible because it is our issue and because our religion instruct us to be politically correct, reasonable, open minded to every thing around us, Islam forbid us from being provocative tough fro no reason.
