And now the long waited 2004 election in Canada is over and it is the time for the evaluation, evaluation of everything started with the goals at the starting point and the result on three levels, Canadian, Quebecers, and the Arabs and Muslims Communities.

The moderate right wing Liberal started this election in a very bad position neck to neck with the ex-progressive conservative, the far right wing party. So Canada had to choose between “right wing and extremist right wing”. It was forced to choose George Bush alike called “Paul Martin” or his right wing called “Stephan Harper”!

This looks like having only two parties system, in spite the fact that we have many registered parties. However none of them would dream of forming the government, because Canadians have become North American minded two parties. With voting participation less than 60%, Canadian are forced to choose between two parties and neglecting all other options.

In Quebec, Quebecers are participating like the rest of Canada at an average of 60%. Moreover they are also two parties minded with one different, their parties are the Bloc Quebecois and another, the other, usually, the party to be in power, Liberal or Conservative.

On the Arabs and Muslims communities’ level, the situation is different from the main stream Canadian and Quebecers. This is the first election after 9-11, and those two communities are the most hit by the post 9-11 security scare, that started with Bill C-36 that allows detaining people under secret evidence act, proposed Bill C-18 that would allow revoking the citizenship under secret evidence act, proposed Bill C-2 that would prohibit TV Media that not register in Canada, as Aljazeera, to give more control to the Zionist Media, Maher Arar affair, deporting political refugees specially Palestinian and Pakistani, all this done under the Liberal party government supported by the conservative. In addition to the reality we live of the Zionist domination era, media and government alike, where most of the Canadian media are controlled by Zionist agenda, and for the first time the Canadian government under Paul Martin included three open Zionist Ministers and 13 of the Liberal party’s MPs are forming what so called Canada-Israel committee. But who care? Arab and Muslim participation has never been noticed because most of them have no political stand or they do not understand, participation was close to 20% in the last election in Canada, and in USA they played a main role in electing George Bush.

Through all this the NDP and Bloc Quebecois did stand against this falls misleading propaganda of security scare that led to a start of the modern police state era. Both parties care for the human rights and the freedom of speech was supported by few MPs of the Liberal party, most of them been pushed aside with the arrival of Paul Martin to power.

This was the map at the starting point of 2004 Canadian version of the new western democracy.

While we all knew the results of the election, Minority Government “Liberal” with main opposition “Conservative”, we might have noticed the changes on the field through out the election, the campaign started with two competitor to the right to end with Liberal party running left slogan (NDP slogans), starting with Health Care pretend that they are the party that refused to join the war on Iraq, while they did not, they refuse publicly under people’s pressure specially from Quebec, while allowed Canadian individuals to participate in this immoral war. They run a scare campaign of the conservative, pushed many to believe that Liberal corrupted government better than extremist right wing corrupted government. What is the different? 

So most Canadian voted Liberal, except in Quebec, where Quebecers voted out many of the Liberals to 2/3 Bloc candidates, punishing the Liberal by supporting their own social services protector.

Arab and Muslim communities was as usual a sample of the society covering the entire political map from the left to the far right, Most of them supported the NDP for its historical stand than voted Liberal because of the conservative scare. Many of them in Quebec understood the difference between the election and the separation referendum and voted Bloc, but the majority voted Liberal forgetting the humiliation they are living under this government.

For the first time this election brought to the surface many of new politician figures from the Arab and Muslims, whom participated in the election in all parties, while the community in large did appreciate this move and the participation was a successful in volunteer work and in defusing the information, voting time was a major shift of stand and understand to the slogan “Plug your nose and vote Liberal” and they did so, scare of Conservative and of Minority Government.

There is no problem with Minority Government, it is better for all of us, because with Minority Government we can practice real democracy, with Majority Government, in this so called western democracy, we live a real elected dictatorship, this election like all the others proves that the existing system is not fair and dose not represent democracy.

When party has 16% of the popular vote and get only 6% of the seats (NDP case) is not democracy so we have to push for the proportional representative, and then only every vote would really count. We also have to push for the obligation vote (Australia is the only country applying it), where people have to vote, so people will be forced to study and choose to their best interest instead of just negatively staying home and letting others choose for them.

In general, this election was call up for all people to recognize that politics is not bad ward, yes there are many bad politician, but politics and politician bad or good are the regulators of the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat. Above all they are the people who choose the future, they are the people who choose for our children. Shouldn’t we be able to choose them?

If the war on Iraq was a major step in scaring Muslim and Arab countries to surrender to the Zionist era, this Canadian election in addition to the partial election in UK were the real death of the 9-11 era where Muslims and Arabs in the west did overcome the fear of participation and recognize the importance of speaking out.

On the community level, this election is a notice of present served by Muslims and Arabs in Canada is just a start point should be followed with lot of work and effort, years to come will prove where we will stand.

By the way, a message to the south, why Ralf Nader has to withdraw for the so called democratic party? If they are really honest to clean the USA office from Bush why they do not withdraw their candidate and support Nader, Democratic and Republic are two faces of the same coin, two parties system is a dictatorship appointed “by the voters” at the polling station.
