Re: Le Bloc élu sur division du vote
fédéraliste Par M. Léo Gagnon;
In
regard to your article that claimed the victory of the bloc in Brossard-
La-Prairie to the splitting of the federal vote, this is so far from reality;
your analyses does not represent the full picture that reflects the reasons
behind the Bloc Quebecois (BQ) winning this ridding after 9 years of Liberal.
We
have to remember that the riding of Brossard- La-Prairie was a conservative
ridding up until the fall of the Progressive Conservative (PC) in 1993. The ridding was then wan by the BQ first
before the Liberals. That happened when
the people decide to punish the PC, which occurred not only in Brossard-
La-Prairie but all-over Canada,
where the PC fall from a majority government to 2 seats only.
When
people chose the BQ for the first time it was the first test for the BQ, where
people lost confidence in them because they were not able to represent all
Quebecers. They were only representing
the sovereign agenda.
The
BQ did many adjustments to its agenda and it was able to prove to everyone that
they stand in the parliament to represent the well been of all Quebecers not
for the special interest group and the big corporate. There are only two
parties in the Parliament who have worked for people’s rights not for corporate
and special interest groups, NDP and BQ.
Because the NDP is not yet able to grow in Quebec, we remain with the BQ as soul choice.
The
BQ stood for the Human Rights when it refused secret evidences, and forced the
sunset close on bill C-36 that has been presented by the Liberal that created a
Canadian version of Guantanamobay.
The
BQ stood with the people in the street in -25° refusing to join USA’s unjust
war against Iraq, while the Liberal
were seating on the fence waiting for people do decide for them.
The
BQ refused the Liberal abolishing of the court of appeal from the refugee
process, where Liberal allowed sending the refugees back to their original country,
without hearing in due process, where they might be tortured.
The
BQ stood against the application of the security certificate, where 5 men have
been held with neither a trial nor any evidence. One of them was from Quebec, the BQ the helped his legal and
political fight until he was set free with shameful restriction. At least, he is now free with his family
after being detained for two years for no known reason.
The
BQ stood against the Missile Defense System that has been approved partly by
the Liberal, see NORAD.
The
BQ stands for Quebec’s
right against shortage in the Health care system and education serving the
sponsorship and fiscal imbalance.
The
BQ has become a party for all Quebecers not for sovereigns only. Yes, they are sovereigns but the mixing
between the election and the referendum is nothing but a Liberal hoax that they
tried to use to cover up their failures.
Know with the raising of the Conservative Party, they can’t claim this
again. They also have to remember that
many of those who voted for the BQ are federalists and many of them are
conservative also.
Therefore,
the redirection of the votes to the conservative came from both Liberals and Bloc
and also new voters; do not forget that this election there were 5000 extra
voters than last election, this number should be taken into consideration.
I
am not a conservative nor am I a separatist.
However, I am a Canadian and a Quebecer who believes in real democracy,
where people should be accountable to everything they do.
So
the Liberal should be grateful that after the mess that occurred under Paul
Martin, the people did not punish them to 2 seats. However, because there are some good
liberals, they governed as a minority government but when they failed again,
they lost both the minority and the leadership.
