Mixed feelings of joy and
sadness

When I look at what is going
on in Iraq, in Pakistan, in Palestine, when I saw Marwa Al Sherbini killed in a
German court on July 7th 2009, I get confused are we in the 21st
century, or we are back in the time hundreds of year Before Jesus Christ.
When is saw Egyptian police
uses live ammunition on Christian Coptic protesters, killing 4 of them in al-Omraneyya
in November 2010, I get confused, is it Egypt, is it our country that we all
know, and where we grew together Copts and Muslims.
Egypt I know and the Egyptian
I knew were completely different, Egypt I know is the one when we were all
leave together in harmony: personally, let me tell you how I grew-up in Cairo:
I am a Muslim, I practice my
religion and I live by my religion, I have been raised with Copts neighbour in
my age, we grew-up together and we still maintain a strong relation.
In high school my closest
friends were Copts, I remember prayed at my friend’s homes, a Copt, I attended
several lecture to Father Shenouda, (Wednesday classes). I read the Bible, the
old and the new testimony.
In university, Copts and
Muslims where together, our Christian classmate where fasting with us in Ramadan,
and they were enjoying it, we had a lot of jokes, I remember Mohsen, that is
his name, joking with us: “Ramadan is the greatest month, you Muslims fast and suffer
and we enjoy sweet and Quizzes (Fawazeer)”
But what happened; let us go
back to see how it develop to reach this massacre that took place in al-Omraneyya;
Do we remember Alzawya Alhamra in June 1981, do we
remember the surrounding environment, let me take you back to this time and let
us find the relation;
When Anwar Sadat took power and just after October 1973,
he had only one goal in his mind, to kill all left wing, so he start arming
thugs in the university to practice bullying, this open the road to a new
politics in Egypt, the power, he was advancing his plan to sign Camp David
Accords in 18 September 1978.
After signing Camp David Accords, he beg Father
Shenouda to allow Copts to perform pilgrim (Haj to Al Quds), he refused it, in
a very clearly stand, because this will create a huge problem between Muslims
and Copts and he will not allow Copts to perform pilgrim until Al Quds back to
Palestinian people.
A few months after, was Alzawya Alhamra, than in September
5th sam year 1981 Sadat
Exiles Father Shenouda, than in October 6th he has been killed by so called Islamic Groups.
He promised Egyptian that with
Camp David Egypt will flourish, he failed in Camp David Failed, fearing of
people anger, and he played the old game, let turn people against each other. So
he turned his failure in Camp David to a huge succeeded in turning Muslims and
Christian against each other.
And now the new regime that
fooled people for more than 30 years and didn’t do better, support Israel and
attacked all Egyptian people, attack all their rights.
In January 2010, another attack
on Naj Hammadi church left 6 killed and left behind him a scared people, scared
and angry. Yes they have the right to be angry, but angry on whom, that is the
question?
Through all this
and from time to time we are facing with a new problem of building a Church,
somebody change his/her religion, a cream coming “they kidnap a girl”, They
Muslim or Copts, another saying that Copts are preparing for civil war and
storing arms everywhere, Copts claiming that will claim under the Muslim
Brotherhood if they gain power.
These all a
government games to suppress democracy and turn Muslims and Copts against each
other.
When I stand in
face of the discrimination against Canadian Muslims, I do that not because I am
a Muslim but because they have rights, and because this is the true Islam, so I
shouldn’t be hesitate in supporting Egyptian Copts in their rights to build
their churches.
Ignorance is the reason behind
all these problems, not Islam nor Christianity call for citizens to turn
against one another, both religion came from the only God to teach people how
to leave together.
Who said love your neighbours, Jesus (ASW) said it and Mohamed (ASW) said it.
We all have the right to be
angry because of what is going on, but why we get mad on each other; we should
turn our anger to the cause, the Egyptian regime
When a regime loss the battle,
they try to divide people; our enemy is one and we should fight this regime
together.
You will not have rights
unless all Egyptian gain their rights in human life, respect and democracy,
only then you will feel safe and Egypt will back to us.
When the corrupted kingdom of
Europe attacked our land under the false slogan of the so called “Crusaders”,
Egyptian Copts and Muslims stood together hand in hand. In 1919 how Muslims and
Copts react to the division inserted by the palace and the occupation. 1940th
Egyptian Christians were member of the political wing of the Muslim
Brotherhood, why?
Because these generations
understood that reality, when they turn against each other, they all lose, when
they stand together Egypt prospers and Egyptians gain their rights.
So let us stand hand in hand
to turn the black days of Egypt into the flourish days and to live together and
survive the economical and political crisis, let us fight together, this dictator
in Egypt and let us fight together his supporter, the international Zionism.
Believe me if we didn’t walk
up and put our forces in the right direction, we will be Iraq and Sudan, we
will kill each other and we will be divided into two or even three countries
and then we all will lose.
